Navman N20

The Navman N20 has been around for a couple of years now and we're giving a brief review here today because it is one of the best selling models of the time and can be picked up at a very reasonable price today via ebay or Amazon.

There is also a wealth of real world reviews available so we can easily identify the advantages and disadvantages of the unit.  So with several years of data available what is the consensus?  Well, obviously, it is pretty positive or we wouldn't have wasted our time featuring it here.

Advantages

  • Very good battery life coming in at 5 hours plus.
  • Lightweight and small.  Will fit in a pocket quite comfortably.
  • Excellent screen and a good solid windscreen mount.
  • Pre-installed safety camera data.
  • Excellent automatic re-routing.

Disadvantages

  • No mains charger - charge unit in car or via usb.
  • Maps will likely be 2006 but 2008 are available
  • USB 1.0

So their you have it.  A very good unit which can be picked up at a bargain price. It was ultimately replaced by the Navman S30 so if you can afford the extra £20.00 or so this may be a better buy as the maps will be more current.

Update 23 October 2008 - The Navman S30 can now be bought new for a similar price to the N20 and is our preferred unit.
